letter_t.gif (381 byte) started out in this business as a traditional animator. Ok, I worked my way up to the position of animator. Unfortunately, it's rare that I get a chance to practice these skills so I won't show a lot of my feature work (especially since most of it is at least 10 years old), but some of my more recent work for TV. My most recent work was on 8 Crazy Nights so I'm including some of that in Pencil Test form.
What I'm most often asked to animate are walk and run cycles to help define specific characters and give a hand to our overseas animators. It's important to try and create unique walks for each individual that help define their personality. We wouldn't want Cyclops walking with as much swagger as Logan or Jean Grey swinging her hips as uninhibitedly as BoomBoom (well, maybe we would, but it wouldn't fit her personality). I also have to create unusual walks and runs for characters like Nightcrawler, Toad, and Beast (this is where my understanding of animals anatomy helps). And sometimes there are specific needs, such as dances, that we would never expect to get back from overseas with the fluidity needed to make them work.  Click on the thumbnails for viewing the animations >>
